BRAINTREE, MA — A new restaurant opens Friday in Braintree, and is treating the public to free meals beforehand.
Cava will serve up Mediterranean-inspired bowls, pitas, dips and dressings at 125 Union St., just off MA Route 3. The restaurant chain is offering free tastes of its cuisine today and tomorrow.
Cava will also be making charitable contributions to the Boston branch of Food Rescue US, matching public donations up to $1,000, according to a news release.
“Our mission is to bring heart, health and humanity to food, and everything we do at Cava is grounded in that spirit of generosity, to our guests, our team members and our community,” said Ron Shuler, regional director.
The restaurant expects to employ 25 to 40 people when fully staffed up.
Nationwide, Cava has about 460 branches, including 19 others in Massachusetts.
