Weymouth Residents Warned Of Scam Emails Impersonating Local Permitting And Zoning Offices

WEYMOUTH, MA- The Town of Weymouth has issued a warning about a series of scam emails. Residents say they have received emails in which scammers impersonate local permitting and zoning offices. The messages have included staff names and official- looking logos.

While the emails include municipal names, some have reportedly come from generic addresses such as Dept.TownOfWeymouthNorfolkCountyMA@usa.com.

If you receive a suspicious invoice email or phone call, do not respond or send any money. The town says it will never request application or permit fee payments through email.

Any official communication from the Town of Weymouth will come from an email with a domain of @Weymouth.ma.us or no-reply@invoicecloud.net
