No Deer Hunt in Braintree This Year
Mayor Joseph Sullivan recently said that there will not be a Braintree deer hunt in 2015.

Bambi can breathe a sigh of relief, there will not be a deer hunt in Braintree this year.
Mayor Joseph Sullivan told the Boston Globe that he would not authorize a hunt this year due to the town not being prepared in terms of public safety.
The deer population remains a concern, however, with Sullivan studying the option to allow bow hunting next year.

The high level of deer in town has led to an erosion in the town’s wooded areas, human health problems from deer tick bites, and at least 55 instances of car-deer collisions over the past three years, according to Sullivan.
Sullivan said he would also look at the recent Blue Hills deer hunt and plans to propose an ordinance with the Town Council that would make it illegal to feed deer.
