2-Alarm Fire At Brockton Apartment

A 2-alarm fire broke out in the basement of a three-floor Brockton apartment. Smoke was billowing out the roof of the wood-frame building.

BROCKTON, MA — A 2-alarm fire broke out in the basement of a three-floor apartment Wednesday morning, according to fire officials. Brockton firefighters were called to the 90th block of Elliot Street, and arrived to smoke billowing out the roof of the wood-frame building.

The flames were extinguished shortly before 10 a.m., and there's no indication anyone was hurt in the fire. Fire officials said they are assessing the damage and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
