Abington Crash: 1 Dead After Train Strikes Truck
Tuesday night, transit police responded to 236 North St. in Abington for a crash involving an MBTA Commuter Rail train and a vehicle.

ABINGTON, MA — Police are investigating a crash involving a car and a train in Abington.
At about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday night, transit police responded to a crash involving an MBTA Commuter Rail train and a vehicle. A preliminary investigation indicates that a pickup truck was struck by an inbound train at a crossing on North Street.
The driver and only occupant of the vehicle, a 78-year-old man, has been pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. No other injuries have been reported.

The victim's identity has not been released.
Foul play is not suspected. The crash is under police investigation.
