Alleged Rapist Told Victim He Was Possessed By The Devil
Siguimar Moreno, 24, pleaded not guilty in Brockton District Court to multiple charges including rape.

BROCKTON, MA — A Brockton man who allegedly raped a woman trying to break up with him said he was possessed by the devil, police said.
Siguimar Moreno, 24, pleaded not guilty in Brockton District Court to charges of rape, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, domestic violence strangulation/suffocation and threat to commit a crime, according to the Enterprise. He was ordered held on $2,500 bail and must stay away from the victim if he posts bail.
Police responded Wednesday night to a report of a woman on Summer Street crying and only wearing a towel. The victim told police that her boyfriend, identified as Moreno, came to her house uninvited and following an argument about his affairs, she said he wanted to leave him.

Moreno then allegedly threw the victim into the bathroom and said he would hit her with an electrical cord if she did not take her clothes off. He then allegedly raped the victim as she asked several times for him to stop, police said.
The victim told police that Moreno told her he was possessed by the devil. He was taken into custody a short time later.

Moreno's lawyer said in court that his client suffers from mental health issues.
He is due back in court March 17.
