• Brockton man charged in machete attack over vehicle repossession (nbcboston.com) — A man was seriously injured on Curve Street in Brockton after police say he was attacked with a machete during a dispute over a vehicle repossession. Officers later arrested 35-year-old Wonder Estiverne of Brockton, who faces multiple charges as the investigation continues. The victim was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center for treatment.
   

• Brockton among recipients of state literacy awards (enterprisenews.com) — Brockton Public Schools are receiving more than $1.6 million in new state literacy grants, part of a $24.7 million effort to boost reading instruction across Massachusetts. The money will fund better curriculum, teacher training, and evidence-based literacy practices from early grades through high school, aiming to close achievement gaps and strengthen reading skills for Brockton students long term.
