• Brockton mayor ordered to stay away from high school amid assault case (nbcboston.com) — Brockton residents are watching closely as Mayor Moises Rodrigues faces an assault charge involving a 17-year-old Brockton High School student, with a judge ordering him to stay away from the school and avoid contact with minors. He can still attend School Committee meetings virtually while the case proceeds, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for Nov. 6.
   

• Brockton man killed in fiery tractor-trailer crash in southeastern Massachusetts (boston25news.com) — A 34-year-old Brockton man, Danidelson Monteiro, was killed Wednesday night when the work van he was driving collided with a tractor-trailer and caught fire on Turnpike Street in Easton. State and local police are still investigating the crash, while the truck driver suffered only minor injuries.
