BROCKTON, MA — With fall in full swing and leaves piling up, the city of Brockton is helping residents tackle their autumn yard cleanup.

Starting Monday, Nov. 2, the city's fall yard waste collection schedule will take effect, giving residents a convenient way to dispose of leaves, branches and other yard debris.

All yard waste must be placed in 32-gallon barrels or paper bags and cannot weigh more than 50 pounds. Branches will also be accepted but must be tied into bundles no longer than 3 feet and weighing no more than 35 pounds.

Yard waste will be collected weekly on residents' regular recycling days.

Residents who prefer to drop off their yard waste can visit the Recycling Depot at 300 Oak Hill Way, Monday through Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. All materials must follow the same preparation guidelines as curbside collection.

More information, including a list of accepted and prohibited materials, can be found online.
