Brockton Child Injured by Falling Lightpole

BROCKTON, MA - A child at the Downey School was injured after a light pole fell on him during recess.

Downey School administrators told WHDH that the pole rusted at the base and fell on the boy’s back and knock him to the ground. Three teachers lifted the pole and he was taken to the hospital.

Brockton Superintendent of Schools Kathleen Smith said the school district is taking steps to remove and replace the poles at the school.
