Brockton Fire Battles Blaze In Bitter Conditions
The Brockton Fire Department said an improperly grounded electrical system was the probable cause of a Fern Street blaze Thursday night.
BROCKTON, MA — The Brockton Fire Department said improperly an improperly grounded electrical system was likely the cause of a fire on Fern Street Thursday night. Firefighters battled the blaze in bitter cold that made for treacherous conditions.
Firefighters responded to the scene about 8:30 where they were met with heavy smoke coming from a 1.5-story wood home. All occupants were out of the home when firefighters arrived.
Brockton fire said a wind chill of 22 degrees with a steady 16 miles-per-hour wind contributed to treacherous firefighting conditions.
