Brockton Firefighters Battle Early Christmas Morning Blaze

Brockton firefighters were able to contain an electrical fire to the walls of a Pearl Street house early Wednesday morning.

BROCKTON, MA — Brockton firefighters and utility workers had a busy holiday as crews responded to an electrical fire on Pearl Street. Brockton fire said it received an alarm shortly after midnight Christmas morning and were met with smoke showing from the building when firefighters arrived on scene in the 600 block of the street.

Brockton fire said that crews from National Grid turned off power to the house and they were able to contain the fire to the area close to where it originated without substantial damage to the structure.

Brewster EMS and Providence Canteen also responded to the scene for assistance.

Brockton fire said it also provided mutual aid to Stoneham in the battle of a two-alarm blaze there Thursday morning.
