Brockton High School Dropout Rate Declines

BROCKTON, MA — The dropout rate at Weymouth High School went down in 2016, according to data from the state's Department of Education.
Last year, 3.4 percent of Weymouth High School's 1,996 students left before completing their education. The number is down from last year's 3.9 percent and is below 2010's 5.5 percent, the high from the last eight years.
Across the grades, the rate was 2.0 percent for freshmen, 3.5 percent for sophomores, 3.8 percent for juniors, and 4.6 percent for seniors.

Statewide, 5,523 students chose to drop out of high school, or about 1.9 percent of Massachusetts students.
