Brockton Man Broke into Stoughton Store, Assaulted Officer: Police

Steven Lorusso, 44, was arrested Tuesday night.

STOUGHTON, MA - A Brockton man has been charged with breaking into a convenience store in Stoughton.

Steven Lorusso, 44, was arrested Tuesday night and charged with breaking and entering during the night, assault and battery on a police officer, larceny over $250 and resisting arrest, according to the Enterprise.

According to the Stoughton Police Log, a caller at Jimmy’s on Pleasant Street told police at 11:45 p.m. that they heard a loud bang and a person is in the front of the store. When police arrived, they found Lorusso.

When officers tried to arrest Lorusso after a brief pursuit, he allegedly struggled and injured an officer.

Money and scratch tickets were found on Lorusso, police said.
