Brockton Man Charged with Beating Disabled Man at Judge Rotenberg Center

RANDOLPH, MA — Two men faces charges after allegedly beating a disabled man in their care.

Mohamed Tarawally, 36, of Dorchester and Claude Guerrier, 24, of Brockton were both arraigned Friday in Quincy District Court, according to the Norfolk County's District Attorney's office. Tarawally was charged with four counts of assault and battery on a disabled person, six counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (to wit: belt), and four counts of assault. Tarawally faces three counts of assault and battery on a disabled person and one count of assault. Both pleaded not guilty during their arraignment..

Investigators say men were employed to care for the victim, who is a resident of the Judge Rotenberg Center in Randolph location. During the course of their employment, the two allegedly criminally assault the victim on several dates in October and November 2016. The matter was investigated by the Randolph Police Department working with the Disabled Persons Protection Commission and Massachusetts State Police and officials at the Judge Rotenberg Center, who had alerted authorities the DA's office said.

Both men are free on $250 cash bail and were ordered to stay away from the victim and the Judge Rotenberg Center. They are due back in court for a pre-trial hearing on March 2.
