Brockton Man Charged With Intentionally Burning Home, Seven Counts Of Attempted Murder

Police say Yvetteau Devilme set fire to the home owned by his estranged wife.

BROCKTON, MA — A 50-year-old man tried to burn down a Brockton home with seven people inside, police say.

Yvetteau Devilme, 50, was arrested Sunday and will face several charges including violating a protective order, arson, seven counts of attempted murder, and malicious destruction of property, according to the Brockton Police Department.

At 2:24 a.m., Brockton Fire responded to a report of a blaze on Packard Way. A day-long investigation determined that Devilme intentionally set the fire and is the estranged husband of the home's owner. At the time of the fire, seven people were inside sleeping, according to police.
