Brockton Man Charged With Kidnapping, Robbery In Holbrook
Police are searching for a second suspect after a woman was carjacked in Brockton and forced to drive at knifepoint to a Holbrook robbery.

BROCKTON, MA — A Brockton man has been charged with kidnapping and robbery, while another suspect remains at-large, after Holbrook police said two men entered a woman's vehicle in Brockton and forced her to drive to Holbrook at knifepoint where the men robbed a gas station on Thursday. John Encarnacion, 31, was charged with kidnapping, unarmed robbery and resisting arrest.
Holbrook police said a second suspect is still being sought after officers responded to a robbery at EJ's Gas Station on South Franklin Street. The clerk told officers that two men entered the store, demanded cash, then left with an undisclosed amount of money and fled in a red SUV.
The SUV was seen entering the Revere Acres neighborhood in Holbrook and police began a vehicle stop at which time the two men fled from the vehicle on foot. Officer Jonathan Ortiz apprehended and arrested Encarnacion. The second suspect eluded police and K9s in a wooded area. A subsequent search with Holbrook, Brockton and Abington police was unsuccessful.

Police continue to search for the second suspect. The man is described as a light-skinned black male with a beard and mustache, in his 30s-to-early-40s. The man spoke Spanish and was wearing black paints, and a dark jacket with a gray hood.

The victim suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment.
