Brockton Man Convicted of Raping Young Boy
Gledys Charles, 19, was found guilty aggravated rape of a child and indecent assault and battery on a person under 14.

BROCKTON, MA - A Brockton man will serve time for sexually assaulting a six-year-old boy.
Gledys Charles, 19, was recently found guilty of three counts each of aggravated rape of a child, threats to commit a crime and indecent assault and battery on a person under 14, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's office.
Charles was sentenced in Brockton Superior Court to 10 year to 10 years and a day in a state prison. Upon his release, he will have four years of probation, must wear a GPS device, register as a sex offender, get treatment, and have no contact with the victim.

On Nov. 23, 2011 at 6:42 pm, police responded to a report of a man assaulting a boy on Newbury Street. Police found Charles but he fled before an arrest was made.
Police discovered that Charles was an acquaintance of the boy’s mother and had been hanging around the apartment and had sexually assaulted the boy living there on at least three occasions.

Charles was located the next day and arrested.
