Brockton Man Faces Murder Indictment
Queito Miranda, of Brockton was arrested after police said he shot and killed Earl Thomas, of New Bedford.
BROCKTON, MA — A Brockton man accused of shooting and killing a New Bedford man was indicted by a Plymouth County Grand Jury Monday. Queito Miranda, 29, was charged with murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and being an armed career criminal.
Police told the Brockton Enterprise the shooting happened after a fight between Earl Thomas, 25, and another person Miranda was with. When the fight was over, Miranda fired several rounds at Thomas, according to police.
Thomas was found at Highland Street suffering from gunshot wounds around 11:30 p.m., May 24, prosecutors told WHDH. Thomas was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Two days later, Miranda surrendered himself to police in Worcester, according to prosecutors.
