Brockton Man Indicted on Murder Charge

On March 31, a Plymouth County Grand Jury indicted Michael Pircio, 34, of Brockton on a charge of murder.

BROCKTON – A man has been indicted on charges that he killed a city man, striking him twice with a roofing shovel, the Plymouth County District Attorney's office said.

On March 31, a Plymouth County Grand Jury indicted Michael Pircio, 34, of Brockton on a charge of murder.

On Feb. 21, 2017, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Brockton police received a 911 call from a resident in an apartment at 18 Menlo Street for a report of an assault. The female caller reported that her boyfriend, identified by police as Pircio, had struck another man in the head twice with a roofing shovel. Brockton Police and emergency medical services responded to the scene and the victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton where he was
pronounced dead of his injuries.

The victim was identified as William James Porter, who lived at that Menlo Street address.

Pircio is currently being held without bail and will be arraigned in Brockton Superior Court at a later date.
