Brockton Man, Ohio Teen Charged In Hanson Break-in

The two were located in nearby Whitman.

HANSON, MA — A Brockton man and a teen from Ohio face charges after allegedly breaking into a vehicle in Hanson.

Nicolas Flores, 24, of Brockton, and a 17-year-old woman from Ohio, were arrested Friday night and charged with breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, larceny over $250, and destruction of property over $250, according to the Whitman and Hanson police departments.

On Friday, June 16, at about 5:10 p.m., police in Hanson received a report of a car break-in at the Shaw's Supermarket on Liberty Street/Route 58. Upon arrival, Hanson police officers learned that a window of a motor vehicle was smashed and a purse was missing. Witnesses told officers that they saw a green Mitsubishi Galant in the area that was occupied by a man and woman.

The information was relayed to area police departments and not long after, the vehicle was located in Whitman at the CVS on Bedford Street, police said.

Detective Sgt. Joe Bombardier and Officer Paul Young of the Whitman Police Department held the vehicle and the occupants until Hanson police officers arrived.

Through an on-scene investigation, police found the missing purse from the vehicle that was broken into in Hanson inside the Mitsubishi. Police determined that the man and woman in the Mitsubishi, identified as Flores and the teen, were allegedly involved in the motor vehicle break-in. They were placed under arrest.

Fores is being held on $2,500 cash bail at the Plymouth House of Correction pending his arraignment on Monday in Plymouth District Court. The teen is being held in the custody of the Department of Youth Services until her arraignment in Plymouth Juvenile Court on Monday.
