BROCKTON, MA — A Brockton man faces charges after allegedly soliciting sex from six underage girls and attempting to blackmail a 14-year-old who sent him nude pictures. Valter Fortes, 40, faces charges of enticing a minor under 16 for sex, possession of child pornography, and dissemination of harmful matter to a minor. He was arrested Wednesday, <a href="http://www.enterprisenews.com/news/20170331/police-brockton-man-sought-sex-from-6-underage-girls" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">according to the Enterprise.</a> School police started the investigation after the 14-year-old said a man she met on social media was blackmailing her. Police say Fortes messaged the girl and pretended to be a 19-year-old. When he allegedly asked to meet up for sex and the teen said no, he threatened to send the pictures to her family and make them public. After police obtained a search warrant for Fortes' Facebook account and phone, they found evidence showing that he was trying to have sex with five other underage girls.
