Brockton Mother Gets Life In Prison For Fatally Stabbing 2 Young Sons

PLYMOUTH, MA — A Brockton mother found guilty of stabbing her two young sons to death was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday morning, according to WCVB reporter Matt Reed, who was in the courtroom.
Latarsha L. Sanders, 48, pleaded not guilty in February 2018 to two counts of murder in the death of her sons, ages five and eight years old, the district attorney's office said.
She was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder on Tuesday, according to Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz.

Officers responded to a call about a medical emergency in the 200 block of Prospect Street in Brockton on February 5, 2018, when they found Sanders "distraught and combative," the district attorney's office said.
Authorities found Sanders' two sons stabbed to death in beds in two separate rooms, according to the district attorney's office.

Sanders told investigators at the time that the killings were part of a ritual, the district attorney's office said, adding that she cleaned up the children and the scene and never sought medical help for the boys.
