Sanchez was also wanted for arrest on assault charges from a separate incident that occurred earlier that day at the same apartment complex. Between 2 and 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7 — approximately 18 hours before the shooting — Sanchez allegedly got involved in an altercation with a different man over a piece of stolen property.
An investigation into that incident indicated that Sanchez brandished a handgun and threatened to shoot the man during the argument, and then struck the man over the head with the firearm and fled.
Sanchez was held at the Randolph Police Department pending his arraignment at Quincy District Court.
