Brockton Teen Rescued From Suicide Attempt

Police had to shut down Court Street while saving the teenage girl.

BROCKTON, MA — A teenage girl was a jump away from death before she was pulled away from the edge of a train bridge over Court Street.

The 17-year-old was able to climb over a railing and reach the edge of the 13-foot bridge located about 100 yards from the police station. Officers responding after the girl's mother told police that her daughter was suicidal, according to the Enterprise.

A portion of the road was closed while police and fire responded. Officers who knew the girl were able to talk to her and pull her from the edge.

The teen was taken to Brockton Hospital for an evaluation.
