Brockton Traffic Stop Leads to Illegal Gun Charges

BROCKTON, MA - A Boston man, unlawfully possessed a fully loaded handgun during a motor vehicle stop on East Ashland Street in Brockton, police said.

David Allen, 24, was arrested Tuesday night by the Massachusetts State Police and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm without a license and possession of ammunition without an FID card.

At about 9:30 p.m., Trooper Paul Dunderdale of the State Police D-Troop Community Action Team observed a Ford F-150 pickup truck allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed. After stopping the vehicle and conducting an investigation, Dunderdale determined that Allen, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was allegedly in possession of a fully loaded, Keltec 9MM handgun without being properly licensed.

Allen was placed under arrest and taken to the State Police barracks in Middleboro for booking. He was held pending bail and his arraignment in Brockton District Court.
