Popular jewelry store to close after 30+ years: After three decades offering fine jewelry, custom designs and personalized service, Charles and Deborah Fierimonte plan to close South Shore Diamond Exchange so they can retire.
“It’s bittersweet,” said Charles Fierimonte, 82, who has spent 55 years in the jewelry business. “Many customers say they’ve been coming here for so long that they couldn’t imagine going elsewhere. That makes this a particularly hard decision, but we feel it’s the right time to step down.”
Before they retire, shoppers can find deep discounts on the store’s wide selection of diamonds, gold, and platinum pieces during a going-out-of-business sale now. Expect to find one-of-a-kind deals on high-quality jewelry, including engagement rings, wedding bands and gemstones.
From Boston to Pembroke
Charles Fierimonte opened his first jewelry store in downtown Boston’s Jewelers Building in 1972, working there for 25 years. They relocated the store to Pembroke, about 30 miles south of Boston, in 1994.
Since then, South Shore Diamond Exchange has become a fixture in the community, combining quality craftsmanship with friendliness and personal service. The business has also supported local charities and organizations through donations and sponsorships.
The Fierimontes reflected on their customers — many of whom they now consider friends — as they prepare to retire. “It’s been a wonderful experience,” Charles said. “We’ve been blessed with a great community that’s supported us for 30 years.”
