Despite Freezing Weather, DPW Repairs Broken Water Main

Overnight, temperatures fell to -10 degrees with a windchill of -30.

BROCKTON, MA - Despite dangerously cold temperatures, Brockton DPW workers were out through the evening repairing a ruptured water main o n North Main and Ames Streets.

According to Mayor Bill Carpenter, the main split in the same area as the recent break in front of the Home Cafe, but this time, the Home Cafe was not impacted.

Overnight, temperatures fell to -10 degrees with a windchill of -30.

Workers are still working to restore water service to the area, with engineering efforts to replace a 200’ ft section of this main underway.
