Dozens at Brockton Hospital to Lose Jobs
The closure of the Transitional Care Unit will leave 64 staff members without a job.

BROCKTON, MA — The closure of the Transitional Care Unit at Brockton Hospital will mean lost jobs for some employees at the hospital.
Rachel Labas, the media supervisor for Signature Healthcare, told the Enterprise that the unit will close within 2-3 months. Sixty four staff members, including nurses, a department manager, and a part-time activities coordinatoror will lose their jobs.
Labas said the TCU has lost million of dollars over the years. The short-term rehabilitation facility is only one of two remaining in the state.

Many of the laid off employees will be eligible for two new units at the hospital.
