Man Charged with Hitting Brockton Woman With Car Held Without Bail

Duane Seaquist, 42, was ordered held following is arraignment Friday in Brockton District Court.

BROCKTON, MA — A Whitman man charged with hitting his Brockton girlfriend with his car in Abington will be held without bail.

Duane Seaquist, 42, was ordered held following his arraignment Friday in Brockton District Court. He pleaded not guilty to numerous charges including attempted murder and causing serious injury while driving drunk, according to The Enterprise.

Seaquist told police that he struck his girlfriend because he thought they were breaking up. As of Friday afternoon, the victim was in fair condition at a hospital in Boston.

According to court records, the argument took place in Abington. During the argument, the victim said that she was done, which is when Seaquist allegedly went into a "blind rage," striking the woman and flipping his car after driving away.

He is due back in court for a dangerousness hearing on Aug. 5.
