Man Pretends To Be Police Officer Outside Bar: Abington PD
Police received reports of a man claiming to be a police officer and asking people at the bar if they needed rides home "for their safety."

ABINGTON, MA — Police are looking for a man they said was offering people rides homes from a local bar while pretending to be a police officer.
On Friday night, police received reports of a man claiming to be a police officer and asking people at the bar if they needed rides home "for their safety.." In a statement on Facebook, police said this type of thing isn't something the department would do.
According to police, the man was white, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall, had a dark, scruffy beard, and was wearing dark clothing.

“If for any reason you see someone suspicious please do not hesitate to call 911 so that we can investigate. Please remember that we work for you and you’re not ‘bothering’ us by calling,” Abington police said in a statement.
The name of the bar has not been made available as of Monday morning. Anyone with information about the suspect can call Abington police at 781-878-3232.
