Man Pulls Baseball Bat On Teen In Brockton Road Rage: Report
A 66-year-old man pulled a wooden baseball bat on a teenager in the midst of a road rage incident, the Brockton Enterprise reported.
BROCKTON, MA — A man pulled out a miniature wooden baseball bat on a teenager in a road rage incident, following a crash Tuesday afternoon, the Brockton Enterprise reported. Just after noon, police were called to the area of Plain Street and Carl Avenue for a report of a crash involving a Chevy Sonic and a dirt bike.
Police told the Enterprise the driver of the Chevy Sonic, William Reid, 66, told officers the dirt bike wouldn't let him pass, and he eventually got in a crash after some arguing with the dirt bike driver, Jason Maia, 18. Reid told officers the dirt bike rear-ended his car, but police said Reid intentionally caused the crash by pulling in front of Maia and slamming on his breaks. The police report didn't include the baseball bat, as neither mentioned it to police, but was photographed by an Enterprise photographer prior to police arriving on scene.
Both drivers were cited in the crash. Reid was cited with failure to use care when stopping, while Maia was cited with operating a motor vehicle with a license and operating an unregister and uninsured vehicle.
