Man Stabs Mom And Stepfather 23 Times: Bridgewater Police

The suspect attacked his mother first and then went after his stepfather when he tried to intervene, according to police.

BRIDGEWATER, MA — A Florida man was arrested on Monday after police said he flew home to his mother and stepfather's place and stabbed them 23 times.

Andrew Soto-Bonnett, 27, of Leesburg, Florida, was charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and one count of mayhem.

Around 5:30 a.m., police arrived at Soto-Bonnett's parent's house on Yoke Road and found Adriana Sirignano, 46, and Michael Sirignano, 50, covered in stab wounds. A police report filed in Brockton District Court said Adriana was stabbed 19 times to her head, neck and upper torso and may lose an eye. Michael suffered four stab wounds to his head, neck and upper torso, the Brockton Enterprise reported.

Police told NECN Soto-Bonnett attacked his mother first and then went after his stepfather when he tried to intervene. Adriana ran to a neighbor's house and called 911. According to police, Soto-Bonnett told them he is schizophrenic, but does take his medication

Soto-Bonnett was arraigned in Brockton District Court on Monday. He is being held without bail and was sent to Bridgewater State Hospital for a psychological evaluation.
