Man Who Threatened To Kill Neighbors Found With Knife: PD

When officers knocked on the door to the suspect's apartment, he answered the door with a small kitchen knife in hand, police said.

BROCKTON, MA — A Brockton man was arrested after police said he held his neighbors at knifepoint and threatened to kill them.

Jose Colon, 69, was charged with with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of threatening to commit a crime. On Thursday around 12:20 a.m., police were called to the Apollo rooming house at Warren Avenue. Witnesses told police Colon was banging on one of his neighbor's door and threatening them with a kitchen knife. According to police, Colon also threatened to kill a couple who lived in that same apartment building.

When officers knocked on the door to Colon's apartment, Colon answered the door with a small kitchen knife in hand, police said. He eventually dropped the knife after police commanded him to several times, according to police.

Colon was scheduled to be arraigned in Brockton District Court on Thursday.
