Nearly Two Dozen Cats Rescued from Condemned Brockton Home

This isn't the first time the home has had a problem with animals.

BROCKTON, MA — A house that was home to 23 cats is not fit for humans or animals, city officials said.

Monday, 23 cats were removed from a Colgate Road home by police and fire officials, animal control and MSPCA-Angell after a resident requested help removing the cats. Now, the house has been condemned, according to the Enterprise.

Then number of cats at the home was originally reported to be 18.

During the removal, workers in white suits and air purifying masks could be seen removing the cats and placing them in a van owned by MSPCA-Angell. The cats were taken to an animal shelter and will receive medical treatment if needed. Once they are all healthy, they will be put up for adoption.

This isn't the first time the home has had a problem with animals. About seven or eight years ago, 66 animals were removed.
