New Stats: Opioid Deaths in Brockton Dramatically Increase
The state's Department of Public Health has released new data.

BROCKTON, MA - The state's Department of Public Health has released new data on deaths caused by opioid overdoses.
During 2015, Brockton had 41 confirmed deaths caused by an opioid overdose. That is well above last year's total of 24. In 2013, there were 27 confirmed deaths.
In Plymouth County, deaths have increased from 117 in 2014 to 151 last year. Since 2000, there have been an estimated 865 deaths from opioids.

Middlesex County has seen the most deaths on a county level with 293 last year and 1,966 since 2000.
The data doesn't include the amount of Narcan used or the number of overdoses reversed through using the life-saving medicine.
