BROCKTON, MA - A Taunton man accused of carjacking a woman at the Westgate Mall was arraigned in Brockton District Court Wednesday.<ul><li><a href="https://www.patch.com/massachusetts/Brockton/subscribe" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Subscribe to Brockton news alerts</a></li><li><a href="http://facebook.com/BrocktonPatch" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Like Brockton Patch on Facebook</a></li></ul>Jose Robles, 32, pleaded not guilty to armed carjacking and two counts of unarmed robbery, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's office.Shortly before noon Tuesday, police in Brockton received a report of an armed carjacking at the mall. While the victim was putting her infant child into a car seat, Robles demanded the car keys while aiming a gun at her.A trooper located the vehicle and the suspect on Arch Street in Brockton before a pursuit of the vehicle was authorized and continued into Stoughton.The suspect crashed his car on Boylston Street and fled on foot. About 30 seconds later, Robles was taken into custody.Robles was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Feb. 22.
