Plymouth County DA Launches Unsolved Murder Tipline
Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz announced Wednesday a new effort to get information on unsolved murders.
BROCKTON, MA — As part of a pledge to "never forget a victim" the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office on Wednesday launched a tipline dedicated to unsolved homicides. The new tipline, which will be monitored by State Police, is 508-894-2584. All tips can be made anonymously.
"Community input will be key to this hotline success," Plymouth County DA Timothy Cruz said. "If there are people out there that believe they have information relevant to an unsolved case, we want to hear from you. Even if you think it is a small detail or something insignificant, it could be the break that investigators need and have been waiting for to solve the cases, and have been waiting for to solve these cases, and bring the families of victims closure and justice."
The Unsolved Homicide Unit investigates and monitors homicide cases that have been pending more than one year without resolution. The DA's Office said unsolved homicides are assigned to an assistant district attorney and victim witness advocate. The DA's Office said it has 107 unsolved homicides, involving 118 victims, since 1961.
