Carjacking and Pursuit From Brockton To Norton: 2 Teens Arrested

The chase ended in the area of Bay and Plain Streets with the suspect's vehicle flipped on its roof.

BROCKTON, MA — State police arrested two suspects following a carjacking and police chase, which started in Brockton, and eventually ended in Norton on Wednesday.

The suspects were a 17-year-old boy from Providence, Rhode Island, and a 16-year-old boy from Holbrook. The suspects names were not released, given that they are juveniles.

Around 11:30 a.m., Brockton police were called to North Main Street about a reported carjacking. Police told the Brockton Enterprise a gold Lexus was stolen by two men who punched a 82-year-old Stoughton man in the face and stole his keys. About 15 minutes later, state troopers said they were chasing the suspect on Route 24 South.

They followed the stolen vehicle to Interstate 495 in Raynham, where the suspects eventually took exit 9 to Taunton and then drove to Norton, where the stolen car rolled over on Bay Street.

Troopers told NECN they followed the vehicle onto I-495 in Raynham and onto exit 9 to Taunton. The chase ended on Bay Street in Norton when the stolen car flipped on its roof. The suspects tried running away, but police said they caught them several minutes later.
