Brockton Cocaine Bust Nets 100 Grams: Police
Brockton police said Savon Gonsalves was pulled over driving a vehicle with tinted windows and arrested when officers found cocaine.
BROCKTON, MA — A Fall River man was arrested after officers seized over 100 grams of cocaine at a traffic stop, police said. Savon Gonsalves, 19, was charged with cocaine trafficking over 100 grams, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a window-tint violation. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Thursday in Brockton District Court.
On Wednesday at about 5 p.m., Gonsalves was pulled over on North Montello Street because police said his windows were excessively tinted. When police approached, Gonsalves admitted to the officers that he only had a learner's permit, police told WATD 95.9.
Police told the Brockton Enterprise officers knew Gonsalves from past gun and drug offenses. officers searched the car and said they found two bags of cocaine under the passenger seat. One of the bags weighed about 21 grams while the other weighed a little over 80 grams. Officers also seized three cellphones and almost $600 in cash.

Gonsalves was held on $25,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court again on April 16.
