Providence Night Club to Remain Closed After Shooting with Brockton Man

21-year-old Luis DaCosta of Brockton was arrested and charged with felony assault.

BROCKTON, MA - A Providence nightclub will keep their doors closed temporarily after a shooting involving a Brockton man.

Early Saturday morning, police were called to the club for a reported shooting according to NBC Providence. When they arrived, they started running towards a party bus and allegedly saw 21-year-old Luis DaCosta of Brockton holding a gun.

DaCosta was arrested and charged with felony assault.

Security officers told police that there were gangs from Boston, Mattapan, and Dorchester inside the club.

The owners of the club agreed to keep it closed until the next Board of Licenses hearing on Thursday.
