Route 24 Crash: Brockton Man Killed

Another person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

WEST BRIDGEWATER, MA — A Brockton man was killed Sunday after crashing into a vehicle on Route 24.

At about 8:40 p.m., state police responded to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a car on the southbound side of the highway near Exit 16, in West Bridgewater. A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2005 Chrysler 300 was struck by a 2016 Harley Davidson Road Glide. Both vehicles were traveling on Route 24 South.

The operator of the motorcycle, a 46-year-old man from Brockton, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The passenger of the motorcycle, a 53-year-old-woman from Norton was airlifted to a Boston hospital with serious injuries. The operator of the Chrysler, was a 62-year-old man from New Bedford.

While the cause of this crash remains under investigation, police believe speed is a factor.
