Southeastern takes first place in Mayflower League

Southeastern Hawks hockey team undefeated season

The Hawks hockey team continues their undefeated streak (13-0-2), defeating South Shore with a final score of 7-0 on February 1st. Ryan Kinney had a goal and two assists, and CJ Doucette, Paul Rozenberg, P.J. Page, and C.K. Berry had a goal and an assist each for the Hawks. Peter Costa and Matt Lavoie also scored. Joey Fregoe, the Hawks starting goalie, had his fourth shut out of the season between the pipes. The Hawks took over first place in the Mayflower League on January 31st against Blue Hills Regional with a 4-1 victory

“We have a good group of kids. We all love playing hockey. We show up and do our job,” said Hawks left wing player, Ryan Kinney, following their series of undefeated wins. “Coach says to just keep going. There’s always something we need to improve on.”

The Southeastern coach, Coach Cabral, has been pushing the team all season. “The kids are playing close to their potential, they’re playing really hard.”

In a recent interview, Joey Fregoe talked about the chemistry between the team. “The most important factor about hockey is that it’s all together as a brotherhood, and you’re always there for each other.” His family has also been very supportive of his passion for hockey since he was a child.

The Hawks have 7 games left in their regular season. Their next opponent will be on the road at Blue Hills Regional Saturday at 6pm.
