BROCKTON, MA — Crews have responded to a report of a strange odor and illness at Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton. According to reports, a student is being treated after having an allergic reaction to pepper spray that was released in the school.

WHDH-TV reported that the student was being treated at Brockton Hospital. The school was evacuated after the incident. Staging is taking place in the Cardinal Spellman parking lot.

The Twitter alert account @AlertsRIBNS called it a "Tier 1 Response" to the report of the odor and illness.
