Two Charged in Bridgewater Fentanyl Case

Steven Irving Jr., 22, of Hanson and Saira Perez, 33, of Johnston, Rhode Island were each charged with one count of trafficking fentanyl.

Bridgewater Police Detectives, supporting an investigation by Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (SEMLEC) Detectives, Old Colony Drug Task Force Detectives and local WEB Major Crimes and Drug Task Force members, arrested two people for trafficking fentanyl after a long-term, multi-agency investigation.

A search warrant was obtained for 45 Wood St. in Bridgewater as part of the investigation into suspected drug activity in the community.

The investigation, which included surveillance and search warrants, yielded nearly 1.5 kilograms of fentanyl and more than $10,000 in cash.

Irving was arrested at a shopping center on Broad Street, and Perez was arrested at the Wood Street residence, each without incident.

Bridgewater Police Detectives assisted SEMLEC Detectives Unit, the Old Colony Drug Task Force and the WEB Task Force, which are regional consortiums of law enforcement officers working together under mutual aid agreements.

Both suspects were arraigned Wednesday in Brockton District Court.
