Water Main Break In North Brockton, Gas Turned Off In Area
Gas service in the area has been shut off, the department of public works announced.

BROCKTON, MA — An 18-inch water main line burst near the intersection of North Main Street and Manners Avenue on Monday, city officials said.
City officials told the Brockton Enterprise that the water main break caused major flooding for several properties and at the walkways on Manners Court. A stream of water went down the street, creating a large pile of dirt near where the line burst. The age of the infrastructure was a factor in why the pipe burst, Mayor Bill Carpenter told the Enterprise. He said the water main was built in the early 1900s.
Gas service in the area was shut off, the department of public works announced. Carpenter told the Brockton Enterprise the town address the break as soon as it could, but had to get a Dig Safe Evaluation and get in to the lines before they could provide an estimate to how long it would take to fix.
