Woman Shoplifts, Crashes Car, And Leaves License Plate Behind: PD
Police said the suspect stole from White's Bakery and crashed her car trying to leave. Police found her license plate, which fell off.

BROCKTON, MA — A woman accused of stealing food from a bakery crashed into another car while trying to get away, which caused her license plate to fall off, police said. When the woman came back to retrieve it, she was arrested after a police chase, according to Brockton Police.
India Green, 23, of East Bridgewater was charged with with leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police and shoplifting by concealing merchandise. Just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, police were called to the shopping plaza at 1041 Pearl St, where White's Bakery is for a report of a crash. Emergency personnel found a license plate from Green's vehicle, which fled after crashing into another car while exiting the parking lot, police told the Brockton Enterprise.
Minutes later, Green drove back towards plaza, according to police. Police said they tried to pull Green over, but she wouldn't stop. The chase lasted until the intersection of Pearl and Mill Streets, where police said Green eventually stopped. Police told the Brockton Enterprise they found bread, cookies, and other groceries in the vehicle. While police were investigating the crash, the manager at White's Bakery told officers he had security footage showing Green stealing the food.

Green was arraigned in Brockton District Court on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty. She is due back in court April 8.
