10 Brookline Businesses Win Best Of Boston 2018

Brookline Booksmith, Matt Murphy's, Boston General Store and more got some props.

BROOKLINE, MA — Brookline has a lot of great things about it, including best place to hold a kid's birthday party, the most overlooked tourist attraction, and of course the best bookstore, you may have already known this, but this year's annual ranking, put out by Boston Magazine, recognized these spots formally.

And Brookline Village showed up big time this year, with five mentions: from newly opened Blossom Bar's best spot to get a cocktail "The minimalist bar [Ran Daun] installed in his parents’ Sichuan restaurant offers drinks that are as adventurous as they are thirst-quenching" to Orinoco for Best Neighborhood restaurant, "raise a toast to Venezuelan cuisine done right," according to the reviews.

For the past 12 months, Boston magazine's team of judges ate, drank, and shopped their way across Boston, and Cambridge to the 'burbs (that's us here in Brookline, technically) and the Cape and the Islands to find the best the area has to offer. The July issue of the magazine names its winners and they include four Brookline-based restaurants, two places to go for arts and entertainment, and three best neighborhood spots.
