2 Charged In Brookline Bank Robbery Attempt: Police

Brookline police said the attempted robbery occurred at the Citizens Bank in Coolidge Corner late Saturday morning.

BROOKLINE, MA — Two men are facing charges in Brookline after what police said was an attempted robbery at the Citizens Bank in Coolidge Corner late Saturday morning.

Police said they received a report at about 11:15 a.m. that a man entered the bank on Harvard Street and "indicated to bank personnel that he was in possession of a firearm." Police said the man fled the bank without any money and a search of the area ensued.

Police said about 35 minutes later they stopped a man matching the description provided to them about a quarter-mile away from the bank. They said the suspect and the man he was with were both taken into custody.

Juan Rivera, 41, of Boston, and Justice Crosby, 23, of Boston were the men taken into custody.

Police said a search of the area had not led to the discovery of a weapon as of Sunday.
