BROOKLINE, MA — Brookline police are asking that any homeowners who believe they may have been victimized in a recent home improvement scam contact them after two people were charged in a scam involving fake estimates and intentional damage done to properties.
Police said one adult and one juvenile were arrested on Friday in connection to what they said was a fraud scheme where the suspects solicited masonry work door-to-door and then caused intentional damage to the home that needed correction when contracted for the work.
Police said the scam included providing quotes such as the one in this image that features a website that does not exist. Police said the perpetrators scammed several Brookline residents out of thousands of dollars.
